Hi, welcome to Open FOSS Training.
Open FOSS Training is an ambitious project bringing together a team of users with years of experience to create video guides and written documentation. This collaboration will help those new to the Linux, and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) world get started and achieve success!
For many, getting starting in FOSS is a difficult road. The lack of clear, concise, and easy to follow guides and documentation is creating stumbling blocks on their road to success. While the documentation that does exist is good for seasoned veterans it often is beyond the reach of new users. We want to make that road to success easier for new users by helping to remove these stumbling blocks, creating an easier path for them.
We have all been new users to the world of Linux and Free Open Source Software. We haven’t forgotten those early days, and the difficulty of overcoming and understanding documentation aimed at developers. Our plan is to help new users by creating video guides and documentation aimed at new users.
While what we create – like the software we love – will be free to use and share, creating this content comes at a cost. Production machines and hosting aren’t free, and we are reaching out to the community for help in raising the funds we need to launch this project. Shortly we will release more information as well as the IndieGoGo campaign for this endeavor.
